INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES
a) The teacher distributes students’ test papers. She tells them to check their marks and discusses each section with them. She reads the correct answers and explains why students made errors.
b) For the last section on guided writing, the teacher asks the students to explain what they should write for each paragraph beginning from the introduction, the content paragraphs and the conclusion.
c) To help them see it clearer, the teacher writes a sample essay for the guided writing question on the board. Once it is done, she tells them to take down this essay into their essay. She explains the differences and similarities between students’ and the teacher’s essay.
d) Before the lesson ends, the teacher reminds the students to bring their writing exercise books for a continuation of the lesson on writing compound sentences.
REFLECTION
This lesson was not completed. The essay was not completed yet. The teacher will continue the essay on Tuesday.

a) The teacher continues previous Monday’s unfinished lesson. She asks the students to take out their test paper and to continue checking their test papers with the students. She begins the section on forms and functions and later on grammar section.
b) Before the end of this lesson, she reminds the students to bring their textbook as they will begin learning Unit 9.
REFLECTION
This lesson was completed. The students had some difficulties in understanding the grammar section as they had forgotten about their singular and plural forms of nouns and verbs. The teacher intends to do a revision of this on Wednesday.

This lesson was completed. The students’ highest score is 100%. Most of them only made very minor mistakes in their test papers.

b) Before this lesson ends, she reminds the students to bring their essay writing books for a continuation lesson on compound sentences.
REFLECTION
This lesson was completed. The highest score for the essay writing section is 24 over 30 marks.

Writing To American Pen Pal Project

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of this lesson, students will be able to:
a) write one new information from what they have read in their pen pal letter

INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES
a) The teacher and the ETA, Mr. James enter the class with a box containing letters from Seventh Grade students from Galway Central School in New York. The teacher explains that the students will be given their pen pal’s letters.
b) This task is given to Mr. James who calls out each student to collect their pen pal’s letters. He also shows other contents of the box namely items such as t-shirts, coins, a baseball, flags, a toy school bus and postcards.
c) Mr. James will remind the students to read the letter in the class and to write at least one new information that they have learned from their pen pal’s letters. He also tells them to return the letters at the end of the lesson so that their English teacher can also share these letters with other students. The letters will be returned to the 1A students once she has finished using them. The students are also allowed to keep any gifts and photos given by their pen pals.
d) Before the class ends, Mr. James invites all of the students to write their opinions on the board. He reads out some of their answers to the whole class.

This lesson was completed. The teacher reminds the students to bring their OPS textbooks on Thursday.

At the end of this lesson, students should be able to:
a) use ‘is’ with singular nouns

INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES
a) The teacher begins the lesson by asking the students what ‘is’ and ‘are’ based on previous Tuesday’s lesson. She listens to what they can tell her and corrects them if they make any mistakes.
b) She gives them sentences with some blanks. She explains what each sentences means.
c) The students are then told to read the sentences silently and to discuss among themselves which verbs to-be can be used to fill in the blanks.
d) After that, the teacher asks the students randomly to write down their answers on the board.
e) Next, she corrects their answers and explains again if any of the students make mistakes.
f) Before the class ends, the teacher asks the students to explain when to use ‘is’ and ‘are’.
REFLECTION
This lesson was completed. Only 4 students made mistakes while answering the 10 questions.

INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES
a) The teacher guide all of the students to talk about the title, “Caring and Sharing’ by getting them to explain the meaning of the words “caring” and “sharing”. She listens to their explanations and adds her own answers to supplement students’ responses.
b) Next, she asks them to look at the pictures by asking them to tell her what they can see on it and how they can show care towards people who need help. Students must also respond by answering the teacher’s questions.
c) Before the lesson ends, the teacher sums up the lesson by informing the students that they can help others in many ways but to be careful of strangers who have the wrong motives.
REFLECTION
This lesson was completed. The students did not give ample of examples when it came to giving answers on how to show care towards others. The teacher provided more examples and gave an advice that when it is necessary to be helpful, they must always do it wisely.
