Appreciation of the poem, Loving nature
INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES
a) The teacher asks the students if they like going to a river. She also gets them to describe a river in terms of its physical and audio aspect. She listens to the students’ responses and shares with them her own opinion of a river.
b) Next, she recites the poem in the class and explains what each stanza means.
c) Then, she gives them some notes to be taken down into their exercise books.
d) Before the class ends, she asks the students to give 1 meaning of each stanza and to identify 4 characteristics of the river.
REFLECTION
This lesson was not completed. The teacher could not enter the class as she had to attend a meeting on Marking of PT3 English Test Papers with the Head of the English Panel. This lesson will be conducted on Wednesday.

a) identify the three obstacles that the main characters face when they enter the centre of the Earth
b) identify the solutions that the main characters use to solve their problems
LEARNING EMPHASIS

INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURES
a) The teacher draws the students’ attention to the previous lesson by asking them to identify the main characters and how the journey to the centre of the Earth begins.
b) Then, she continues reading the book in the class by pausing at paragraphs where the main characters face obstacles during their journey and how they solve their problems.
c) The teacher ends the lesson at Chapter 3. Before the class ends, she reminds them that the story will be continued again on Monday next week.
REFLECTION
The lesson was not successful. The students were not interested to listen to the teacher as they made a lot of disturbing noises. The teacher decided to skip a lot of scenes and only presented the most important ones to be told to the students.
